# Staking

Explains proposed $GET staking, including a 30-day lock for launch-fee discounts and undefined potential yield from the buyback treasury.

The proposed staking model lets users lock $GET to access defined protocol benefits. It remains an untested economic design.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The proposed staking model is untested, and no staking system is deployed.
{% endhint %}

### Proposed model

| Element                | Proposed design                   |
| ---------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| Asset locked           | $GET                              |
| Minimum staking period | 30 days                           |
| Launcher benefit | 50 bps discount on the launch fee |
| Potential yield source | $GET held in the buyback treasury |

The proposed fee discount applies to the launch fee. Other staking benefits remain subject to final specification.

### Intended economic flow

```
Fee activity
    ↓
Buyback
    ↓
$GET held in treasury
    ↓
Potential staking yield
    ↓
Stakers
```

The flow describes an intended relationship. It does not define the amount, timing, or distribution of any yield.

### Staking parameters

Reward formulas, APY, emission schedules, reward frequency, compounding, unstaking, lock extensions, early-withdrawal terms, and contract interfaces will be finalized before deployment.

Any staking yield remains undefined and is not guaranteed. Staking is not presented as an investment product.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://whitepaper.getpaid.family/usdget-economics/staking.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
