# Why GetPaid

Presents the timing thesis linking changing launchpad, payout, chain, and stock-token infrastructure to potential demand for generalized fee routing.

GetPaid's timing thesis concerns several developments in launchpad, payout, and multi-chain infrastructure. Together, they may create a need for generalized fee routing. They do not establish demand, adoption, or product-market fit.

### Developments behind the thesis

| Development | Reported context | Relevance to the thesis |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Robinhood Chain | Mainnet was reported to have launched on July 1, 2026, with infrastructure gaps remaining. | New chain environments may need supporting infrastructure. |
| Pons V2 | Reportedly under audit; its fee model may change. | Launchpad fee flows can remain in flux before production models settle. |
| X Money | Replaced Stripe around September 2, 2026, with instant creator payouts, US-only availability, and no public API. | Creator payout infrastructure may be useful but constrained by rail and access. |
| Gas sponsorship | Expected to end September 29, 2026. | A change in sponsorship may alter economics around RHC activity. |
| Stock tokens | Growing activity has been reported around projects such as long.xyz and Stonk. | Stock-token trading could become another potential fee source. |

### The proposed connection

```
New chain infrastructure
        +
Launchpad fee flows
        +
Creator payouts
        +
Multi-chain ecosystems
        +
Stock-token activity
        =
Potential demand for a generalized fee-routing layer
```

GetPaid is designed around that possibility. A multi-chain, multi-rail fee layer could give integrated launchpads a way to direct fees to creators, holders, token mechanisms, or treasuries.

{% hint style="info" %}
This is a timing rationale, not a forecast. GetPaid remains a pre-testnet concept.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://whitepaper.getpaid.family/introduction/why-getpaid.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
